Mayor Rogers of Dolton Receives Mayor of the Year Award (Dolton, IL) – At the 02/16/2021 Board Meeting, The Southland Journal presented Mayor Riley Rogers with the Mayor of the Year Award.
In presenting the award to Mayor Rogers via Zoom, Publisher Dr. Cornel Darden Jr. stated that Mayor Rogers’ administration has led the way in government transparency in the south suburbs. The Village of Dolton has been posting all their board meetings to their YouTube page for at least the last 5 years, something that has only begun to become commonplace since the start of the pandemic.

Mayor Rogers was recently hospitalized after suffering a stroke. He has since been released from the hospital and is reportedly expecting to make a full recovery. This was his first public appearance since the stroke.
