Jim Marter Releases Final Statement on Congressional Race for Illinois’ 14th District  (Oswego, IL) — “I want to thank everyone for their love and support in this race. It was your commitment that motivated me and gave me the strength to run hard and forge a very strong campaign. I am truly grateful for the hard work and dedication of so many volunteers at the grassroots level and the many donors who supported me, locally and from all around the country. I want to also give a special thanks to those who endorsed my run at the state and national level, including Conservative Congresswoman Mary Miller, former Congresswoman and Presidential Candidate, Michele Bachmann and many others,” said Jim Marter, commenting on his race.

“I am proud of the strength of my team and campaign. I’m going to remain active and have met with my team about our efforts moving forward, with a conservative agenda. A conservative agenda focused on Faith, Family and Freedom is desperately needed to revitalize our state and nation. Stay tuned for more about that.”

Marter continued, “The Republicans had great victories in this election locally here with Jed Davis for 75th State Representative and we have a great Gubernatorial Candidate in Senator Darren Bailey. Many other great, principled conservative Republicans won as well, I look forward to supporting them and the ‘Red Wave’ in November!”

“We chose to delay any comments on the close outcome of my 14th Congressional race until we obtained enough information from the 7 county clerks about the vote by mail ballots potentially yet to be received and counted. After careful analysis from the information provided by those county clerks, it appears that once every legal vote has been counted, we will be short of a victory. I wish Scott Gryder good luck in November.”

Marter concludes, “Finally I want to extend a heartfelt VERY BIG THANK YOU to all my supporters and volunteers who endorsed, walked, gave out literature, donated, called and so much more. I want to also acknowledge the over ten thousand followers on social media channels who did their part sharing my message of Faith, Family and Freedom. We wish everyone a wonderful Independence Day, 4th of July weekend with family and friends to celebrate the FREEDOM and privilege we have of living in the greatest country on Earth!”

“Most of all, I want to thank my beautiful wife Jill, my family and of course God, for protecting me during the campaign and blessing me with so many new and strengthened relationships.”

The Climate Crisis Is Worse Than You Can Imagine. Here’s What Happens If You Try. – Peter Kalmus, out of his mind, stumbled back toward the car. It was all happening. All the stuff he’d been trying to get others to see, and failing to get others to see — it was all here. The day before, when his family started their Labor Day backpacking trip along the oak-lined dry creek bed in Romero Canyon, in the mountains east of Santa Barbara, the temperature had been 105 degrees. Now it was 110 degrees, and under his backpack, his “large mammalian self,” as Peter called his body, was more than just overheating. He was melting down. Everything felt wrong. His brain felt wrong and the planet felt wrong, and everything that lived on the planet felt wrong, off-kilter, in the wrong place.
