Jim Gleffe, Blue-Collar Candidate for Cook County Judge, Running Hard as Race Heats Up (Palos Park, IL) — An experienced public service lawyer with deep connections to working families is building momentum as the June 28 primary election moves into high gear.
Jim Gleffe, who serves as Chief of Staff and Chief Deputy Recorder for Cook County Clerk Karen Yarbrough, this week formally introduced himself and his campaign throughout the south suburban 15th Judicial Subcircuit, ahead of the Democratic primary election that is now about two months away.
This is Gleffe’s first run for public office, but he has spent his entire professional life as a public servant. A native of the southwest side of Chicago who grew up in a blue collar, union family, Gleffe decided to run for a seat on the Cook County bench as a natural progression of his career dedicated to giving back to others.
Gleffe has been talking to voters throughout the region about his background, his campaign and his values. He has experience pursuing financial fraud cases, helping victims secure tens of millions of dollars in restitution and collaborating with federal prosecutors to put the most serious offenders behind bars.
Gleffe has worked closely with respected elected officials, including Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White, former City Clerk (now Illinois Comptroller) Susana Mendoza and County Clerk Yarbrough to improve public services and help crime victims.
As a judge, Gleffe will follow the law, and use his upbringing, training and values to make reasoned decisions that ensure justice is served.
“No matter who you are, a courtroom can be an intimidating place,” Gleffe said. “As a judge, I would do everything possible to ensure that anyone who appeared before me – whether as a plaintiff, defendant or attorney – felt like they were treated with the utmost respect, dignity and fairness, and that, regardless of the outcome of their case, they received equal justice under the law.”
A graduate of Illinois State University and De Paul University College of Law, Jim is the first member of his family to attend college. He and his wife Kristen live in Palos Park.
