Democracy for America Endorses Jaylin D. McClinton in the Race for Cook County Board, 5th District (Chicago, IL) — Jaylin D. McClinton (he/him/él) announced today that Democracy For America (DFA), founded by former Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chair Howard Dean, is endorsing his campaign in the race for Cook County Commissioner as a part of their 50 State Strategy.
“Democracy For America (DFA) is pleased to endorse Jaylin D. McClinton for Cook County Commissioner. Jaylin represents the next generation of bold, progressive leaders running against the status quo, which has plagued communities like his for far too long. I have seen Jaylin do the work of standing up for the most vulnerable first-hand, often while juggling law school, and I know that is the same level of energy – if not more – that he will bring to the Cook County Board of Commissioners,” said Chief Political Officer Chris Scott.

In past cycles, they have endorsed people like Former President Barack Obama, U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders, U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren, and Congresswoman Lauren Underwood, just to name a few. Democracy For America (DFA) joins the LGBTQ Victory Fund, Run For Something (RFS), Illinois House Black Caucus Chair Kam Buckner, Illinois State Representative Lamont J. Robinson, MWRD Commissioner & Former Obama Great Lakes Czar Cam Davis, and 34th Ward Committeeperson Preston Brown in supporting McClinton’s bid for Cook County Commissioner.
