Cook County Commissioner Donna Miller Files for Reelection (Chicago, IL)— Cook County Commissioner Donna Miller filed four times the required petition signatures for the June 28, 2022 primary election. Miller is currently completing her first term representing Cook County’s 6th District which consists of over 30 municipalities located in the South and Southwest Suburbs.

“As the sole Commissioner that resides in the Southland, I have made it my priority to ensure that the issues facing the residents in the 6th District are heard on the Cook County Board. Most importantly, I wanted to make sure that my district is offered the same services as any other communities across Cook County,” Miller said.

“As a very diverse district, I have made it my mission to work with federal, state, and local
leaders and organizations to bring services to our region.”

Miller has proven herself as a champion for the South and Southwest Suburbs during her first term through her work to help secure economic investments, ensure COVID relief services, support small businesses and working with first responders.
Miller’s First Term Highlights include:
• Secured millions in grant funding was awarded to the 6th District for justice assistance,
FEMA, public assistance, and other vital programs
• Secured funding for small businesses impacted by the pandemic
• Miller led the charge and played an instrumental role in coordinating food drives,
partnering with the USDA and local agencies to provide food resources for thousands of
families
• Providing CPR training for County Employees and focusing on health education and
disparities
• Ensuring local COVID testing and vaccinations in response to the pandemic
• Highlighting community activities and services provided in the Forest Preserves

Miller added, “I am proud of the work I have accomplished over my first term, but there is more work to do. I am very honored to receive this early support of residents across my district duringthe petition phase. I look forward to continuing to address the issues that face Cook County and our region.”

Miller currently serves as Chairman of Contract Compliance the Forest Preserve District Board. She is Vice Chairman of Contract Compliance Committee, Veterans Committee and Workforce, Housing, and Community Development Committee on the County Board. Miller has over 25 years of experience in the healthcare industry. As a resident of Lynwood, she is married to Dr. David Miller and has two sons, Daniel and Donovan.
