Chicago GOP Calls for Democrats to Admit Collusion with Madigan’s Machine and Return The Money They Received (Chicago, IL)—The Chicago Republican Party reacted to the long-awaited indictment of Michael Madigan with calls for the many Democratic Party politicians who accepted the largess, power and money of the corrupt Madigan Machine to come clean and return the funds.

“This indictment might be limited to Madigan and immediate cronies, but the stench and corruption extends to all who happily flew under Madigan’s wings, while knowing full well how all that power and money was generated” stated Chicago Republican Chairman Steve Boulton.

Boulton, who with former Republican Cook County Commissioner Tony Peraica took on Madigan and his organizations in federal lawsuits alleging misconduct, were among the few who directly and publically stood against Madigan when others feared to do so. Also standing against Madigan was 13th Ward Republican Committeeman David Krupa, who ran for Alderman in 2019, against Madigan’s lieutenant, Marty Quinn, and suffered substantial consequences for doing so.

“The blame for the disastrous fiscal condition of government in Springfield, Cook County and Chicago can be laid directly at the doorstep of Madigan and those Democrat officeholders who blithely followed his directions for years, and participated in a corrupt political machine, all for their own personal advancement or profit,” stated Boulton.  “We will not listen to how they did not know. They need to acknowledge their fault and return the millions in tainted Madigan money.”

About the Chicago GOP

The Chicago Republican Party represents a broad diversity of people in the city, across geographical, racial, ethnic, and economic divides. What ties us together is the core belief that the people can govern themselves. It is the same belief that drew the founders to create this nation.

We believe that government has become too large and powerful. We believe that in this city, the people have been forced to serve the government, not the other way around.

We believe that taxes and fees are too high, and there are altogether too many interests with their hands in our pockets.

We believe that the deeply corrupt Democratic machine must end. We believe that it is wrong to use public resources to fund private political campaigns.

We believe that the Democrat Party, which has held power in the city for many years, has failed to educate our children.

We believe that the people, not those who hold power, should be in charge.
