Bulls Gain Momentum with a Win Against the Nuggets (Denver, CO) — The Bulls slept on their performance against the Trail Blazers and came prepared to face the Nuggets at the Ball Arena. The Bulls fought hard in the 1st quarter and Coby White drove up the middle to the rim for his first points of the season. The Bulls however struggled outside the arc, only making 2 out of 8 shots. The Bulls were able to hold their ground against the aggressive Nuggets. By the end of the 1st, the Bulls and the Nuggets had scored 30 points. The 2nd quarter was just as competitive as the 1st with Lonzo Ball, snagging a loose ball and launching it across the court to Derrick Jones Jr. for the slam dunk. The Bulls once again couldn’t find their rhythm outside the arc, making 1 out of 6 shots. The Bulls were able to make up for it with very consistent points in the paint. By the end the of the 2nd quarter, the Bulls scored 23 points while the Nuggets scored 22 points. The Bulls had a 1-point lead by the end of the 1st half. The score was 53 – 52. 

At the Half

In the 3rd quarter, the Bulls turned up the heat with Zach LaVine making a move on the rim while being heavily guarded by Austin Rivers for the point and the foul. The Bulls made 2 out of eight 3-pointers but still were very consistent at the rim. The Bulls scored 35 points while the Nuggets scored 26. The Nuggets trailed the Bulls going into the final quarter 88 – 78. In the final quarter of the game, the Bulls didn’t let up on their defense or offense. DeMar DeRozan made a break for the rim just to toss it out to Zach LaVine with 1 second on the shot clock to launch it up for the 3-pointer. The Bulls scored 26 points against the Nuggets 30.  The Bulls beat the Nuggets 114-108.

Game Leaders

Game Leaders were Zach LaVine with 36 points along with Lonzo Ball handing out 6 assists. On the defensive side, Javonte Green was able to snag 9 rebounds. DeMar DeRozan was an aggressive player tonight with getting 2 steals while Alex Caruso was able to get 1 block. The Bulls made 44.1% of their collective shots along with making 25.8% of every 3-point shot.
