Bears dominant over Texans (Chicago, IL). After nearly two months of losing football, the Chicago Bears got a much needed win over the Houston Texans ending a six game losing streak. The Bears, who are still in the playoff hunt hadn’t won a game since week six against the Carolina Panthers. However, they wasted no time in this one jumping on top of the Texans early and winning easily 36-7.

David Montgomery ran for a 80 yard score on the opening drive and Chicago never looked back. Montgomery led the rushing attack with 11 carries for 113 yards. The second year back from Iowa State also caught three passes for 42 yards. Mitch Trubisky had one of his better performances in recent memory, throwing three touchdown passes in the first half. Trubsiky who was drafted ahead of Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson in the 2017 draft got the best of the young star in their first pro matchup. Trubisky finished 24/33 for 267 yards and 3 TDs.

Chicago also saw their defense get in on the action with seven sacks and a safety on the afternoon. Bears held Watson to 219 passing yards and only one touchdown. Roquan Smith and Mario Edwards Jr had two sacks a piece and Khalil Mack sacked Watson for a safety with six minutes to play in the first quarter.

Houston (4-9) has been eliminated from postseason play, but will travel to Indy next week to face the Colts (8-4) who are still within reach of winning the AFC South. Chicago is headed to Minnesota for a huge game against the Vikings (6-7).
