Angels edge out the White Sox for the 2nd win of the series (Chicago, Illinois) – After yesterday’s slaughter, the White Sox were ready to show Chicago a game. In the top of the 1st, White Sox pitcher Dallas Keuchel took the mound to throw out the first pitch of the game. Keuchel threw for a flyout, strikeout and a groundout. In the top of the 2nd inning, the White Sox picked up on a double play to advance the game. In the top of the 3rd inning, Angels batter Phil Gosselin hit a single RBI. In the bottom of the 4th inning, White Sox batter Yoan Moncada hit a ball to right field for a solo home run. By the end of the 4th inning the White Sox tied the Angels at 1-1.

A Tightly Played Game

In the top of the 5th, the Angels were caught in another double play that advanced the game. In the top of the 6th, Angels batter Luis Rengifo was out on a sacrifice fly for an RBI that took the lead. In the bottom of that inning, White Sox batter Yasmani Grandal hit an RBI single to tie the game before they suffered a double play to shut down the White Sox offense. By the end of the 6th inning, the White Sox had tied back up the Angels at 2-2.  In the top of the 7th White Sox pitcher Michael Kopech took the mound. In the bottom of that inning, all 3 White Sox batters were struck out consecutively. In the top of the 8th inning, Angels batter Brandon Marsh launched a solo home run to left center field to take the lead over the White Sox once again. In the top of the 9th inning, White Sox batter Garrett Crochet replaced Kopech at the mound. In the bottom of the 9th inning, 2 White Sox batters were struck out and the last hit was a flyout to an out in left field. The Angels narrowly beat the White Sox with a score of 3-2.
