Fioretti To March in Bud Billiken Day Parade (Chicago, IL) – Bob Fioretti, the Republican candidate for Cook County State’s Attorney, will march in the 95th annual Bud Billiken Day Parade on Saturday, August 10th, he announced today.

“I am proud to participate in the largest African-American parade in the country again,” Fioretti, a long-time civil rights lawyer said. “As the parade committee says ‘The Bud Billiken® Parade is more than a procession of bands and floats marching down King Drive, it’s a commemoration of our past and a celebration of our future.’ I look forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones along the parade route. And I also love the bands and floats each year”

Fioretti, a two-term Chicago Alderman elected and re-elected in a majority African-American ward, will be the only Republican candidate marching in the parade. “Our campaign is about making every neighborhood in the city safe for kids going back to school and their families, while respecting the dignity and civil rights of everyone” he said. “That has been my life’s work and that will not change when I am State’s Attorney.”

“The parade has long signaled the impending end of summer and beginning of the new school year, and for the hundreds of thousands of students in Chicago and across the county a new school year signifies renewed hope and opportunity,” Fioretti said. “I love being part of that energy.”

Fioretti’s spot in the parade is #44 in Dignitary section 5. He will also participate in the pre-and post-parade activities.
