Nationally renowned civil rights and personal injury attorney Ben Crump of Ben Crump Law and attorney Paul Grinke of McCathern Law have filed a lawsuit on behalf of Brittany Davis and C.T. (a minor) who both suffered severe burns and trauma due to a Taco Bell employee pouring boiling water on them after they tried to resolve an issue with their order.
The lawsuit details a tragic incident in which Brittany Davis and C.T., both Black females, were locked in a Dallas Taco Bell dining room by an employee as they tried to resolve an issue with their $30 order after it had been prepared incorrectly twice in the drive-thru. Employees became combative with the customers; a manager came out from behind the counter with a scalding bucket of water and proceeded to pour it on C.T. and Davis. The two plaintiffs were able to escape the dining room before the manager could reach them with a second bucket of boiling water.

Deep Severe Burns

Both Davis and C.T. suffered deep and severe burns to large portions of their bodies. While en route to the hospital, Davis began to seize due to the trauma, and she would continue to seize as she was careflighted to Parkland’s ICU burn unit in Dallas.
“Our hearts break for these two victims whose lives are forever changed because of the horrific and damaging actions by the Taco Bell manager and the larger entities that failed to protect the safety of their customers,” said Grinke and Crump. “Not only did Brittany and C.T. suffer physical trauma because of the burns, but they will now live with the psychological trauma that comes with an attack like this. Corporations have a duty to employ quality and stable employees who hold safety as the highest priority.”

Lawsuit

The lawsuit names Yum! Brands, Taco Bell Corp., Taco Bell of America, Taco Bell #22872, North Texas Bells, and two employees as defendants. The lawsuit lists negligence by the individual employees, negligent hiring and failure to control and prevent injuries to their customers, premises liability, and gross negligence by the defendants. Plaintiffs seek relief in excess of $1,000,000 in actual damages, with the final amount to be decided by a jury.

  1. Those two retards threatened the employees once they took it upon themselves to cross the counter. You could’ve just took your food and filed a complaint but you wanted to be boisterous a**holes. Enjoy your life-long scars, idiots. You get nothing.

  2. I am horrified by this scalding incident at this Dallas Taco Bell. I wish the FBI to investigate the history of this Taco Bell its employees and previous police reports about other incidents. It appears to me that those employees actions being so barbaric savage and bold towards a woman and minor costomers shows that there is more to it than this incident. It appears as a hate crime that has no fear of police intervention or justice and an attempt to create terrorism in the community. It makes me feel that there is a systemic problem with the law authorities and this kind of activity is being done with impunity.
    Sincerely Nancy

  3. They should’ve kept their butts behind the counter. The manager didn’t come from behind the counter to throw water on them. The minute you’re behind that counter and you’re not an employee you’re a threat!!!! I hope they and other folks will learn their lesson from now on
